All departments follow a "seeds for planting . . .truth, faith, trust, encouragement, inspiration, motivation or recovery " concept. Please don't be preachy, but do share the truth of Jesus Christ from a personal experience point of view, and please refrain from using phrases like : "You should" and "You need to". Instead, use your own experience as the example, saying "I needed to", "I discovered", or "I learned". Using "We" in some instances is acceptable.

Please carefully edit your own work for grammar and spelling. Allow for additional editing, primarily for space. I do not have time to do much serious correction.

Please know that your material is copyrighted by your signature and © symbol with the date of its creation. The website is copyrighted by these same measures, but does not insure protection on the internet. Your material will be used for self-promotion, sharing and ministry only, not for monetary compensation. By publishing your work in this way, you are acknowledging this, and that your work may become available to the public without your knowledge or permission. This is a choice.

It will remain on my website for a period of 2 - 4 months, and then be removed. It is not archived electronically. I am asking for one time, non-electronic rights. You own the material. Your promotional information and short bio will be included. Your email address is protected in some measure by separating the name - @ (at) and the isp name (light.net).

Your address and phone will not be listed for your own protection, except in the case of an event. It is recommended that you use a post office box number, or alternate email address / phone numbers whenever possible. No author photos will be used.

Please send your query and an outline of your story in email, using the form on the Contact page. Do not send as an attachment until you first mail and ask. When attached, please send the complete story double-spaced, grammar and spell-checked. Unsolicited attachments or full manuscripts mailed in the form will be discarded. (those known to me are excluded from this requirement) Be sure to write 'submission' in your subject line. Be sure to sign and date your work. You will be asked to reply with your 'signed' permission (email is fine) to use your work, supply your complete address and phone number, and a confirmation number for my personal verification. Your personal information will not be used otherwise.

For "AUTHOR'S REPORT" You can share news about your writing, book, or speaking accomplishments or forthcoming events.

For "GRAMMA'S LIL' DUMPLINS'" This is "Gramma's Corner" You can share funny stories from or about your little ones in "Kid Talk", or recipes for them to make or enjoy. Recipe should be less than 200 words. Share your childhood favorties, "gramma moments", or tips to share for children. less than 300 words.


For "FEATURED" Best essays will be selected from all contributions or those following a particular theme. No theme is set more than 2 months ahead of time, except for holidays. Articles and essays may be up to 450 words, but may be edited for space. These may cover a variety of personal experiences - "Life Lessons" or longer bible study essays - "Bible Chat".


For "GROUPS " Please share information from Northern or North Central Ohio writing groups or workshops. These need to be posted with a full 12 month calendar such as; "Third Sundays each month" or "Second Monday nights every other month" at consistent locations. Please do not send information about an event that is only good for one month. It is not timely for the quarterly content renewal I try to manage. Include your email contact or post office box number for mail.


For "KITCHEN": Short, short "Letters Home", "Nature Notes", "Tea Party", "Gardening Reports" ,"Household Tips", "Traveling Tales", "I heard it At Church", or "At Our House" need to be less than 350 words. Think of what you would share at the kitchen table with a friend. Some of these stories may spill over into the Dumplin's page if they are child-related. "Food 4 Thot" is generally written by me.

Contests are generally planned as able, and will be featured on this page.

For "SEEDS"
(1)A short devotional - "God's Way" (less than 300 words), (2)a short, short "Wise Words" essay that correspond with a scripture(200w),(3) "Day Starter" a favorite verse and comment (200 w) or (4) a life experience "Seeds" (300-400w). Think about how you would encourage someone who is hurting.
What has happened in your life that would be an encouragement?
What passage of scripture has been encouraging to you in difficult times?
How has someone else encouraged you?
What has encouraged, inspired or motivated you in your writing life?


For "GRAMMA'S APPLE TEASERS" This is meant for the kiddy corner of Gramma's Kitchen. Links, short, short stories or nature related articles, i.e. "Weird Critters". "Did You Know"? is intended for kids a little older (8-10) and can include word games. Jokes or funnies are welcome. Only very short activities or crafts may be accepted occasionally.


For "WRTING DESK" These articles of about 400 words should be writing related by professionals, or spiritually motivating or inspiring for the gifts in arts. The two Headings are: "God's Way in My Heart" and "Perfecting Tools".


For "YOUR TURN" Writing exercises and suggestions are featured here. If you have a challenge you'd like to share, you're more than welcome.

For a bible study especially for writers, email me from my contact page with the words "Bible study" in the response form. You will receive the current lesson. Each lesson includes a key verse, additional verses, a prayer focus, and a Journal Consideration for writing exercise. The study covers nearly a year, is delivered once a week, and spans topics for the beginning writer or believer to the more seasoned writer. An outline may be sent at your request.
